Header Lateral Screen:Optimized Media Retention and Flow Management
Header lateral systems provide effective media retention and uniform fluid distribution or collection across a diverse range of applications. These assemblies, comprised of screen laterals connected to a central header pipe or hub, ensure consistent flow through treatment media. Their adaptable design readily integrates with various vessel sizes and shapes, accommodating side, center, top, or bottom inlet piping configurations.
Furthermore, these systems are engineered to handle flow in any direction.
Leveraging wedge wire construction, these header lateral assemblies enable designers to achieve precise and consistent flow management across a variety of treatment media and flow rates.
A typical configuration incorporates a distribution assembly at the top of the vessel to evenly disperse influent across the media bed. A second collection assembly, positioned near the bottom of the vessel, collects the treated effluent and directs it either through the vessel sidewall or, via a central hub connection, out the bottom of the vessel. Similar distribution and collection system designs are available for counter-current flow applications.
To optimize performance and achieve precisely controlled flow rates, several design parameters can be customized. These include the number and spacing of the laterals, as well as the diameters of both the laterals and the header, allowing for fine-tuning of flow characteristics.
